Q: Hello. Nice to meet you, Ban.O. Could you please introduce yourself briefly? 😊
A: Hello. I am Ban.O, a singer-songwriter who talks about dreams.
Q: How did you come up with the name Ban.O?
A: It comes from "Ban Oh," meaning "half fifty" in Korean. I decided that if I couldn't make money with music by half fifty, I would quit music. Fortunately, I started making some money from performances and have been active as Ban.O since then.
Q: How have you been since the 'MELOLIST' project concert with Incheon live performance cafe 'Melodine'? We are curious about your recent activities. ☺
A: After the Melolist concert, I found performing so enjoyable that I have been looking for more opportunities. I will be performing continuously from April or May, and I am also working on an album that I hope to release in the summer.
Q: How did you first start making music?
A: On my seventeenth birthday, I decided to try playing a guitar that was lying around at home. It was so much fun that I started practicing and luckily joined a band at school. I've been making music ever since.
Q: Which of your works are you most attached to?
A: My first single album 'Fear' is the one I am most attached to. The lyrics contain the messages I wanted to convey the most, and I think it's a situation that everyone can relate to, which makes it even more special to me.

Q: What values do you prioritize when making music?
A: It varies with each song, but as a singer-songwriter who talks about dreams, I hope that listening to my songs will make people think of their aspirations and give them the courage to pursue them.
Q: What word best describes you?
A: I'm not sure about a specific word, but I hope that being with me gives others a positive mindset. I want to be hope!
Q: What do you think is your musical strength?
A: I don't consider myself a singer-songwriter who writes songs and sings well, but I believe I am good at expressing and conveying the emotions I want to share. I think that's my strength.
Q: Where do you usually get your musical inspiration?
A: I don't get inspiration separately. I just keep writing songs. When I write songs on various topics, there comes an exciting moment. I then turn on the recorder and sing spontaneously. After that, I make modifications.
Q: Have you ever wanted to give up or had a difficult experience while making music?
A: The most challenging time was when I wanted to switch to music as my main job during my "half fifty" period. There isn't a specific moment when I felt like giving up. Although it can be mentally challenging while creating, I always feel happy looking back.

Q: Conversely, do you have any cherished memories that made you glad to pursue music?
A: In high school, I once played a self-composed song for my class. The song was about my parents, and a friend sitting in front cried. That moment is still vivid in my memory. It was the first time I felt that my music could move people.
Q: Can you give a hint to your fans about any songs you are currently working on?
A: If you ever feel tired, exhausted, or on the verge of collapse, think of your friends, loved ones, family, and colleagues around you. Many people are supporting your dreams. This is the theme of my upcoming song!
Q: What kind of music do you want to present to the public as a singer-songwriter in the future?
A: I want to continue making music that brings hope and courage. I love everything that's good and uplifting. I want to sing songs that make people feel good and smile. I hope my songs will be like that.
Q: Lastly, could you say a few words to those reading this? ✨
A: When I strongly resolved to quit if I couldn't achieve my goals by half fifty, I started trying everything. That was my true feeling. I really didn't want to give up, so I poured everything into making money through music. It wasn't hard at all, and every moment was thrilling and felt like I was achieving something. I hope many people who read my story will pursue their dreams with the same passion. I will support you with my music, with the same earnestness I had back then.
